Man loses life in industrial accident at chicken plant

An industrial accident in California or elsewhere can result in serious injuries or even death to employees. Sometimes, accidents can occur suddenly and disastrously, with no prior warning. Such was the case in a recent industrial accident in another state.

A man lost his life in a chicken plant following a tragic accident. According to authorities, the incident occurred when a man attempted to retrieve an item that had fallen between two machines. The man became trapped in between two of the machines, causing serious injury. He passed away before he could be taken to a hospital.

Another employee had to be transported to the hospital, although the specific nature of his injuries was not detailed. Authorities say he was ‘overcome with emotion’ after the industrial accident but was expected to be okay. The victim was an employee at the plant for only about a month before the accident. The company has brought in grief counselors for the employees.

The company has factories in California and around the nation. An industrial accident like this is certainly shocking, but OSHA has stated they do not expect foul play. When an employee is injured or killed on the job, workers’ compensation may be available to the worker or the families of workers who lost their lives. Although grief is likely the first thing on a family’s mind, losing someone can also detrimentally affect a family’s finances. When this happens, workers’ compensation death benefits can help offset the costs of the employee’s last medical expenses, funeral costs and other expenses associated with the accident and can also provide for lost income due to the employee’s death.
