Construction worker dies in tragic workplace accident

Investigators are currently looking into a tragic accident at a Kern power plant. Here, a California construction worker was killed when he fell while working to dismantle an abandoned power plant, yet another of the many fatal types of workplace accidents that occur in our state every year. According to reports, the incident occurred at about 9 a.m. on June 19. The worker was taken to the hospital where he died about two hours later.

California company fined in fatal construction accident

A construction company has been fined following a tragic accident which took the life of a worker. The construction accident occurred in January at the site where a Milpitas home was being built. The California Department of Occupational Safety and Health cited the company with 14 different citations for safety violations totaling $165,175 in fines after the death of a carpenter on the job site.

Industrial accident leaves California worker dead

Construction and industrial accidents are unfortunately among the most common types of mishaps that occur. A tragic industrial accident occurred in Carlsbad, California recently where a 48-year-old man was killed just after midnight at a flower distribution warehouse where he worked.

San Diego man awarded $520,000 being fired after workplace injury

The jury in a recent case has found in favor of a 61-year-old San Diego man, after he was found to have been wrongfully terminated based on workers' compensation guidelines. He had been employed by the city of San Diego when he was injured on the job in 2006, though he later returned to work. The man reportedly did an excellent job but was then fired in 2010, about four years after his initial workers' compensation case.
