Workplace accident kills two BART workers on the tracks

On Oct. 19, two BART workers received "simple approval" to conduct some work on a track shortly after 1 p.m. By shortly after 1:30 p.m., they were killed in a workplace accident. A train heading eastbound struck the two men, fatally wounding them both.

2 industrial workers and 1 other killed in logging accidents

Three separate logging accidents occurred sequentially over the course of one weekend. All three incidents are unrelated. One man was on his property chopping firewood when a piece of wood struck and killed him. The other two incidents involved industrial workers.

OSHA issues citations in fertilizer plant industrial accident

Most everyone in California has heard about the explosion at a fertilizer plant in the Lone Star State back in April. The industrial accident took the lives of 15 people and injured over 160. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has concluded its investigation into the incident.

Work stopped after California industrial accident kills worker

Work has been stopped at an asphalt plant by the California division of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The work stoppage was instituted after an industrial accident killed a worker. The accident took place on Oct. 7.

FAA gives OSHA the right to investigate workplace injuries

As California flight attendants may or may not have been aware, up until recently, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration was not involved in crew member safety. Workplace injuries were the purview of the FAA. However, a new policy will soon be published that will change that.
